Galactia purshii Desv.
PURSH'S MILKPEA
**
**
This taxon is characterized by its large flowers and appressed stem vestiture, and is mostly confined to the Florida peninsula and Atlantic Coastal Plain. It has gone by many different names that are considered misapplied here, G. brachypoda (Nesom 2015, 2017), G. glabella (Duncan 1979), G. regularis (Vail 1895), and G. volubilis (Ward & Hall 2004; Wunderlin & Hansen 2011). The earliest available, legitimate name, G. purshii, makes G. michauxii a later synonym (Franck 2017).
