Solanum pseudogracile is the name typically applied to the more common representatives of this group in Florida. Solanum chenopodioides has been considered a different species and an extremely widespread cosmopolitan weed (Särkinen et al. 2015;l Särkinen et al. 2018), that is much less common in Florida. The possibility has been raised that S. pseudogracile is "merely a form of S. chenopodioides" (Knapp et al. 2019). The longer, rectangular to obovate calyx lobes with rounded to acute tips reflexed in fruit and the style extending (1)2.0-2.5 mm beyond the anther cone distinguishes S. pseudogracile. Comparatively, S. chenopodioides has short, triangular calyx lobes acute at the apex and appressed to the fruit with the style extending to 1.5 mm beyond the anther cone (Knapp et al. 2019).
