Although the basionym protologue used the epithet "caroliana" and could be considered the correct usage (Art. 60.1), the lectotype specimen spelled the epithet "caroliniana" which is considered the intended, proper spelling by many authors (Gandhi 1999). Perhaps, the protologue spelling may be seen as a typographical error.
